Get to Know Craig Holcomb
Craig Holcomb is a Jackson County native and proud graduate of Scottsboro High School. A U.S. Army veteran and career law enforcement officer, Craig began serving with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in 1999. Over the past 26 years, he has gained experience at nearly every level of the department..
He started his career in Corrections, later moving to Patrol, and then serving as an Investigator, where he worked both general and major crimes before being assigned to Narcotics. Craig’s leadership and dedication led to his promotion to Lieutenant, where he continues to serve as a patrol supervisor. Along the way, he has completed numerous law enforcement classes and certifications, and he currently manages traffic safety grants for JCSO through ADECA/NAHSO.
Craig’s service has been recognized both locally and across the state. He was named Deputy of the Year in 2023 by his peers at JCSO, awarded the Medal of Valor in 2022 by former Sheriff Chuck Phillips, and honored as VFW Law Enforcement Officer of the Year in 2015. Earlier in his career, he was also recognized by the Alabama Narcotics Officers Association as Narcotics Officer of the Year.








Faith & Family
Faith and family are central to Craig’s life. He is a founding member and trustee of Mud Creek Baptist Church, where he remains active in ministry. In memory of his late son, Craig also helps organize the Ridin’ 4 RJ benefit ride, which raises money for the CVICU at Children’s of Alabama. Craig is also a proud father to a little girl who inspires him daily to keep working toward a safer and stronger community.
